BVSc, MANZCVS (Small Animal Medicine)
Registrar in Small Animal Medicine
Dr Matt Woodruff graduated from The University of Melbourne in 2002 and spent 10 years working in and general and emergency practices in Melbourne, Brisbane and Adelaide including helping to establish and manage a new emergency centre in Adelaide in 2008. Matt eventually commenced a residency in small animal internal medicine in 2012 while concurrently founding a referral medicine service at AAERC in Kurralta Park. He has passed both the practical and oral components of the specialist level examinations with the ANZCVS.
After 10 years in referral practice, Matt determined to start a mobile medicine service in an endeavour to provide more direct support to the general practitioners of Adelaide. Matt now relishes the close professional relationships and collegiality developed through working directly with the general practitioners on the common goal of caring for the dogs and cats of Adelaide. Matt is especially interested in endoscopy, cardiology and abdominal ultrasound while spending time educating veterinarians on the diagnostic utility of the various tests at our disposal.
Matt has published in international journals and presented at conferences nationally and provided multiple continuing education seminars to the veterinarians of Adelaide. Matt is now also engaged in lecturing and tutoring the 5th year veterinary science students at Adelaide University in various small animal medicine topics.
Dr Jennifer Judd graduated from the University of Glasgow in 2009. She initially began her career in mixed animal practice but soon developed a passion for small animal imaging, especially ultrasound. Dr Jen spent around 8 years working in general small animal practice in Adelaide before taking a break to have her son. She set up SA Veterinary Sonography in 2019 as a way of providing a high-quality mobile ultrasound service to clinics across Adelaide. She obtained her ANZCVS Membership in Small Animal Radiology in 2021. Since starting her mobile ultrasound venture, Jen has also discovered a love of cardiology and she hopes to develop her skills further under the mentorship of Dr Matt at SA Vet Medical Referrals.
Since starting my ultrasound business in 2019, I have learnt a great deal and seen many interesting cases due to the large volume of ultrasounds performed. I have also enjoyed the collegial relationships I have forged along the way. I am excited to join forces with SA Vet Medical Referrals to provide a high quality, friendly and prompt referral service for the clients and pets of Adelaide.
